Variations

Even though this raspberry overnight oats recipe is awesome as-is, sometimes it’s nice to change it up a bit! Here are a few variations to try:

  • Add chocolate – If you haven’t tried raspberries and chocolate together, you are seriously missing out! Add a tablespoon of mini chocolate chips to this recipe and see what I mean.
  • Try different berries – Raspberries are delicious, but why not switch things up and try different berries like blueberries or strawberries? You can even mix different types of berries for a fruit medley. I highly recommend trying this strawberries and cream overnight oats recipe, too.
  • Make it tangy – Like a bit of tang (and some extra protein?) Add a few spoonfuls of Greek yogurt to the mix.
  • Sprinkle in some nuts – Add some crunch and extra healthy fats by sprinkling in a tablespoon of your favorite chopped nuts (almonds, walnuts, or pecans work great!)
  • Top it off – Get creative with your toppings! Add coconut flakes, cacao nibs, granola, or anything else that sounds delicious.

The possibilities are endless when it comes to customizing raspberry overnight oats. Experiment and find your perfect combination! With endless possibilities, you’ll never get bored of this nutritious breakfast option.

Customizing Raspberry Overnight Oats

One of the best things about overnight oats is their versatility. Here are some tips for customizing your raspberry overnight oats to suit different dietary needs and preferences:

Vegan-Friendly

To make a dairy-free version, use plant-based milk such as almond, soy, or oat milk. If you’d like to make it completely vegan, make sure to swap out the honey for maple syrup too.

Gluten-Free

Making this recipe gluten-free is super easy! All you need to do is ensure your oats are certified gluten-free. I highly recommend trying my favorite GF oats—they taste incredible!

Protein-Packed

Boost the protein content by adding a scoop of your favorite protein powder or incorporating nuts and seeds. This is especially beneficial for those needing extra energy and fullness throughout the day.

Low-Sugar Option

If you prefer to avoid sugar, you can skip the added honey and rely on the natural sweetness of the raspberries. You can also add a few drops of stevia or monk fruit extract for a low-calorie sweetening option.

FAQs

Do you eat overnight oats cold or warm?

Typically, overnight oats are enjoyed cold right out of the fridge.

However, if you’re not a fan of cold oats (it took me a little getting used to after years of warm oatmeal), you can easily pop it in the microwave or reheat it on the stove while your coffee is brewing or you make your favorite matcha latte.

Can I use frozen raspberries?

Yes, frozen raspberries work just as well as fresh ones. They may add a bit more moisture to the oats, so you might want to adjust the liquid content slightly. Or, you can let the raspberries thaw before you add them to help reduce the liquid amount.

How long can I store overnight oats?

Overnight oats can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. This means you can prepare a few servings at once and have breakfast ready for several days.

So, there you have it—your new favorite breakfast. Give it a try, and let me know what you think!
